About Elin Petronella
I’m Elin, a Swedish born artist, author, embroidery designer and the creator behind Petronella Art.
I’ve been stitching architectural scenes, wanderlust landscapes and botanical details for a decade, turning illustrations into “touchable drawings” i.e. embroideries one careful stitch at a time.
What started in an 18m2 rooftop studio in Paris has grown into a creative world of 100+ patterns, online courses, books and a community of half a million of embroidery lovers around the world.
I believe embroidery is one of the last genuinely slow things. In a world designed to keep you moving fast, picking up a needle and thread is a quiet act of resistance. The repetitive movement, the texture under your fingers, the design slowly coming to life, it brings you back to yourself.
That’s what I make patterns and courses for. Not just beautiful things to stitch, but a reason to slow down and reconnect with out innate creativity and joy.
