    Who is behind the pattern?

Elin Petronella is a Swedish artist author and mother of two who now resides in Belgium with her family.

Through the past decade she has worked alongside her husband Charles and taught thousands of students the art of modern hand embroidery through their joint academy. Since early 2026, she is now expanding their legacy and continuing under the artist umbrella of Petronella.Art

What Is Special About The Free Embroidery Pattern Of Rue Galande?

The Rue Galande design (apart from being the most stitched design), is one of the first architectural patterns that Elin designed.

The unusual buildings that were seemingly “squeezed” in between two larger ones, immediately caught her eye while strolling the streets with her husband Charles.

She just knew that she had to draw and embroider it!
